Yes, you have emotional needs. No, it's not selfish.
You're not a robot. It's called being a human being: you were built that way.
People often say (or fear) that having emotional needs is selfish, when it's exactly the opposite. People who have good, healthy ways of getting their emotional needs met, are less selfish and better at understanding and acknowledging other people's emotions.
So please start talking about how you feel! And let go of the guilt.
